Son ellos los protagonistas de un trabajo periodístico que pone el acento en la vertiente humana del continente y ha sido reconocido con varios premios de la profesión. Con poco más de veinte años, Aldekoa viajó por primera vez al continente y en los últimos años ha cubierto múltiples conflictos y temas sociales en Somalia, Sierra Leona, RD Congo, Angola, Sudán del Sur, Mali y más de 35 países africanos. Desde el año 2009 es corresponsal de La Vanguardia en África y realiza reportajes de radio o televisión para diferentes medios. En noviembre de 2014 publicó su primer libro Océano África.
